Trader Joe's cheddar cheeses

Besides junk food, the other thing I looked for at Trader Joe's was cheddar cheese. In most of the standard supermarkets, like Target or Walmart, decent cheddar cheese was either expensive or not sold (respectively). Target actually sold Irish products, whether butter or cheddar cheese, but it was as I said expensive.

I don't remember what any of these were like. I think one stood out as having a mature cheddar flavour, and the rest were lacklustre.

  1. I really like the Trader Joe's Coastal Cheddar but I'll have to look up the Black Diamond Vintage Reserve Cheddar aged five years.

  2. Oh my gosh--I'm eating the Black Diamond 5-year cheddar right now, and it's dynamite!
I found this site because I was Googling to see what places normally carry it since I got mine on closeout at little local store.
Extra, extra sharp, with a perfect crumbly texture.
    Fantastic.

  3. My local TJ's (Westchester County, NY) has discontinued Black Diamond cheddar. TJ's has discontinued quite a few products I loved. I am so sad :(
